HELLO EVERYONE AND WELCOME

As we all know the hit show ANGEL on The WB is in early stages of being canceled. As loyal fans we all feel like there must be something we can do. I am just an average person who does not want to see the show end so abruptly. We all feel that ANGEL deserves one more final season to go out with the bang. I have made this site for fans to join together. It isn't much seeing how we have limited time and only a few episodes left so I had to work quickly. There are several links to online petitions to help support ANGEL and speak our minds, along with helpful tips on things you can do.

BUFFY MAY MAKE ONE MORE APPEARANCE BEFORE THE SHOWS CANCELLATION!

This just in from TV Guide

THIS BITES: The WB has sentenced Angel to death. The network announced late Friday that the Buffy spinoff would end its five-year run in May. Network CEO Jordan Levin said he wanted to give series creator Joss Whedon enough notice so that he could "wrap up [Angel] in a way befitting a classic television series." He also hinted that the show's legacy could live on next season in the form of "special movie events," adding that such an idea was still very much "on the table." Now for the $25,000 question: Might the series finale feature a reunion between David Boreanaz's Angel and Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy? As TV Guide recently reported, Gellar nixed an offer to reprise her signature role this May. Of course, it's a Slayer's prerogative to change her mind. Stay tuned...

ANGEL'S REASON FOR BEING CANCELED MAY BE BECAUSE OF ANOTHER SHOW

Levin's comments at the Winter Press Tour for the WB, where he had this to say about the possibility of two vampire shows on the network, and if they would interfere with one another: "We haven't seen Dark Shadows yet," he said. "What was interesting about that is that anytime John Wells walks in the door and says he's excited about wanting to do something differently - in this case, a gothic soap opera called Dark Shadows - I think that's something you're obviously going to pay attention to. I think that two shows could co-exist. One is an action-adventure franchise, and one is a very gothic soap opera franchise."

Either way, it could be quite possible that Angel's timeslot be taken by another vampire who will hopefully take a bite into the ratings.

JOSS SPEAKS TO THE PEOPLE

Some of you may have heard the hilarious news. I thought this would be a good time to weigh in. to answer some obvious questions: No, we had no idea this was coming. Yes, we will finish out the season. No, I don't think the WB is doing the right thing. Yes, I'm grateful they did it early enough for my people to find other jobs. Yes, my heart is breaking. When Buffy ended, I was tapped out and ready to send it off. When Firefly got the axe, I went into a state of denial so huge it may very well cause a movie. But Angel... we really were starting to feel like we were on top, hitting our stride -- and then we strode right into the Pit of Snakes 'n' Lava. I'm so into these characters, these actors, the situations we're building... you want to know how I feel? Watch the first act of "The Body."

As far as TV movies or whatever, I'm not thinking that far ahead. I actually hope my actors and writers are all too busy. We always planned this season finale to be a great capper to the season and the show in general. (And a great platform for a new season, of course.) We'll proceed ahead as planned.

I've never made mainstream TV very well. I like surprises, and TV isn't about surprises, unless the surprise is who gets voted off of something. I've been lucky to sneak this strange, strange show over the airwaves for as long as I have. I don't FEEL lucky, but I understand that I am.

Thanks all for your support, your community, and your perfectly sane devotion. It's meant a lot. I regret nothing (except the string of grisly murders in the 80's -- what was THAT all about?) Remember the words of the poet:

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the road less traveled by and they CANCELLED MY FRIKKIN' SHOW. I totally should a took the road that had all those people on it. Damn."

See you soon.

THE ARTICLE WE ALL HATE

The WB announced today that Angel won't be back for a sixth season. The news comes on the heels of the network airing the 100th episode of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off starring David Boreanaz. The WB issued a statement early in order to give the show's creators time to wrap up the season appropriately.

"For the last seven years 'Angel' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' have been cornerstones of our network. The sum total of the work done on those shows has produced some of the proudest moments in our history," said the network.

"Like some of the great series that are leaving the air this year, including 'Frasier' and 'Friends,' the cast, crew, writers and producers of 'Angel' deserve to be able to wrap up the series in a way befitting a classic television series and that is why we went to Joss to let him know that this would be the last year of the series on The WB."

The cancellation might not be the end of Angel altogether though. "We have discussed continuing the 'Angel' legacy with special movie events next year, which is still on the table," said The WB. "In a perfect world, all of these details would be completed before this information went to the press so that we could be definitive about the show's ongoing future. But in any case, we did not want to contemplate this being the last year of 'Angel' without giving the show the option of crafting their own destiny for this character and for this series."

The network also praised Boreanaz, cast and crew. "David Boreanaz continues to be one of the finest, classiest and friendliest actors we have had the pleasure to work with and we hope that the relationship furthers from here. The same can be said for all the actors and producers on the show."

There are still nine episodes left in this, now last, season of Angel.
